Lead without imposing

A leader proposes. A leader does not impose.

For dancersBy Dawou Tarraxo

  1. Leading begins before the visible movement.
  2. Create a clear intention.
  3. Give your partner time to receive it.
  4. Observe the answer before adding more.
  5. Do not drag the follower into your timing.
  6. A clear lead creates choice, trust and dialogue.
  7. The goal is not obedience. The goal is shared movement.
Your practice question

Leaders: save this before your next social.

How to lead in Kizomba without imposing. A leader proposes.

Leading begins before the visible movement. You create a clear intention, you give your partner the time to receive it, and you observe the answer before adding anything else.

The most common mistake I correct is dragging the follower into your own timing. It works, in the sense that the movement happens. It also kills the dialogue.

A clear lead creates choice, trust and conversation. The goal was never obedience.

Clear leading works the same in Kizomba, Tarraxo and UrbanKiz.
